Biography

Aegea Barclay began her love for the arts as a very small child. She was lucky enough to grow up in an artistic family, which surrounded her with the knowledge and appreciation of many of the most brilliant artists of our time. Because of these interactions, Aegea’s aspiration is to become one of the distinguished female abstract artists of her generation, following in the footsteps of the great female artist, Georgia O’Keeffe. Aegea graduated from one of the top art schools in the country, Cornish College of the Arts with a BFA in painting and photography. Upon graduation, she decided to do things differently than most artists and opened her own gallery, Aegean Design Gallery on Queen Anne Hill. She has established a unique style in her abstract paintings of geometric color fields and her freedom of expression in her distinctive drip techniques.
